Indiana's Attorney General wants Hoosiers to watch out for car dealers listing cars as a private seller on Craigslist. Attorney General Curtis Hill wants consumers to contact his office if they notice such listings. Craigslist allows a seller to post either as a dealer or as a private party under "by owner." Dealers are prohibited by Craigslist from advertising under "by owner." Hill said dealers violating the rule may also be violating Indiana's Deceptive Consumer Sales Act.
